THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COLDHARDSTARE (C Habib) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) GOOD QUEEN BESS (J P van der Merwe) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, BONIKA (M Yeni) was bumped in by COLDHARDSTARE (C Habib), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) MISS DAISY (C Zackey) hung out and shifted out badly from the 300m, despite Jockey C Zackey's attempts at keeping this filly on a straight course. The Board, taking into consideration that this was MISS DAISY'S first run for Trainer A P Peter, informed him of this filly's history of hanging and covering unnecessary ground in races and advised him to take the necessary corrective measures to improve MISS DAISY'S racing manners. c) Jockey C Maujean reported SECOND BREATH took an awkward stride at the 150m. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) MISS DAISY (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
