THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAPSAICIN (R Fourie) and GLOBAL THUNDER (P Mxoli) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) ROSE FOR TRIPPI (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) UNZEN (K A Brewer) and HEIRLOOM (K Matsunyane) brushed at the 400m. b) Leaving the 200m, READY TO CHARGE (M Yeni) was brushed out by UNZEN (K A Brewer), which shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m. c) READY TO CHARGE (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) GLOBAL THUNDER was ridden by Jockey P Mxoli. Jockey J P van der Merwe was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on GLOBAL THUNDER, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer C J Lensley, which necessitated a change of Rider.
