THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) U KING (K Matsunyane) over-raced in the early stages. b) Approximately at the 1200m SUGAR BLAST (S Moodley) which commenced to over-race in the early and middle stages had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of ZERO DAWN (N Patel). c) Approaching the 300m SUGAR BLAST (S Moodley) which was hanging out from the 400m and ZERO DAWN (N Patel) came together and brushed. Thereafter at approximately the 150m SUGAR BLAST (S Moodley) which continued to hang out had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of NINETY NINE HEROS (M Thackeray). d) In the the concluding stages ZERO DAWN (N Patel) and THALAIVA (R Khathi) came together and brushed. e) Jockeys K Matsunyane (U KING), R Khathi (THALAIVA) and Apprentice R A Venniker (THE GOLDEN GOAL) reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) NINETY NINE HEROS (M Thackeray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Eudey acting on behalf of Trainer M D Miller advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey N Patel was the rider of ZERO DAWN (advised 03.09.23/08h40). b) SUGAR BLAST raced without blinkers (advised 03.09.23/08h24). c) THE GOLDEN GOAL raced equipped with cheek pieces (advised 02.09.23/08h05).
