THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) KASHKAVAL (R Khathi) commenced to over-race in the early and middle stages, proving difficult to assist. At approximately the 1000m, the bit pulled through this gelding's mouth resulting in KASHKAVAL shifting out and Jockey R Khathi thereafter easing this gelding out of the Race. b) From the 200m PAPA C ( *K J Lihaba) shifted sharply both ways away from the crop. c) RODRIGUEZ (C Maujean) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. d) Jockey S Khumalo reported that BAYVIEW EXPRESS changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performances of TOM BOMBADIL (S Moodley) (15.30 lengths and 50/1 in the betting) HEAD GARDENER (K Matsunyane) (17.00 lengths and 20/1 in the betting) and CAPTAIN WHO (C Habib) (11.00 lengths and 25/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) RODRIGUEZ (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
