THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COMETH THE WAR (D Daniels) lost 2 lengths. b) THE GREEN GALLANT (S Veale) lost 3 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) JOSEPHINE'S PRIDE (*K J Lihaba) had to be led to the start. Trainer P V Lafferty will be advised that should this gelding behave similarly in future it may be suspended. b) Shortly after the start ZABADAK (*R A Venniker) was squeezed out between CAPTAIN BARBOSA (G Lerena), which jumped in, and PIXIE IN LOVE (C Maujean), which jumped out. c) JOSEPHINE'S PRIDE (*K J Lihaba) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. a) Jockey C Maujean reported that PIXIE IN LOVE made a severe respiratory noise in the running and eased this filly out of the race from the 600m. In view of this report the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer P Gadsby has been requested to report back on the condition of this filly upon return to stables. d) KING OF SEVILLE (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
