THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LADY TIPTREE (R Khathi) lost 1 length. b) EVENING PRIMROSE (A Mgudlwa) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) ALPHABETTY (D Daniels) was hanging in from the 400m. b) At the 300m and thereafter approaching the 100m MONASHADA (J Jacobs) was briefly carried out by ASIYE PHAMBILI (S Veale) which was hanging out and shifted out from the 350m. c) Jockey D Daniels signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that he as the rider of ALPHABETTY misused his crop by striding this filly more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R2000 was imposed. d) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning ONLY HEARTS, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Assistant Trainer C Eudey acting on behalf of Trainer M D Miller was advised (MB). Suspension dates: 11.09.2023 - 09.11.2023 bdi. e) ASIYE PHAMBILI (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D C Howells advised (DZ).
