THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LA CHANELLE (J Gates) jumped slow, losing three lengths. b) FAIRFIELD (A Andrews) and GOLD JET (JP van der Merwe) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of GOLD JET (JP van der Merwe), which took an awkward stride at the 650m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Approaching the 200m GREENLAND (G van Niekerk), which proved difficult to settle in the early stages, shifted in away from the crop and had to be straightened. c) FAIRFIELD (A Andrews), which raced green, was directed to the outside of AVIGNON (C Zackey) to continue its run in the latter stages. d) AVIGNON (C Zackey) was hanging out in the latter stages. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding LA CHANELLE (J Gates) Trainer GS Kotzen will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) DIAMOND ROCK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
