THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start RADICCHIO (G Lerena) and RICCARDO (S Moodley) were squeezed out between WARRIOR BLING (*R A Venniker) which jumped out and FAMOUS AND RICH (J Jacobs) which jumped in. b) At the 200m EVENTIDOR (M Yeni) was brushed in by RADICCHIO (G Lerena) which was carried in marginally by STRAIGHT UP (*K J Lihaba) which rolled in. c) At the 150m EVENTIDOR (M Yeni) had to ease when awkwardly placed between AFROPOLITAN (A Mgudlwa) and RADICCHIO (G Lerena) which was carried in by STRAIGHT UP (*K J Lihaba) which shifted inwards. Apprentice K J Lihaba signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of STRAIGHT UP he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to RADICCHIO (G Lerena) and EVENTIDOR (M Yeni) at the 150m. Accordingly, a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven days was imposed. (Dates to be advised). d) Jockey C F Dicken reported that he felt something amiss in the running with MAJESTIC POWER. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey S Moodley reported that RICCARDO did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the performance of LET EM GO (*S Hlengwa) (16.35 lengths, 40/1 in the running), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) WARRIOR BLING (*R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Forster acting on behalf of Trainer W A Nel advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey J Jacobs was the rider of FAMOUS AND RICH (advised 11.09.2023/12h47). b) Apprentice S Hlengwa (LET EM GO) weighed out at 52.7kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight.
