THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SEBASTIAN'S ANGEL (S Khumalo) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Habib reported that STRIKING ANGEL changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that JUMPING ANALIA did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) STRIKING ANGEL (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) CHILLI MARMALADE raced without a tongue tie (declared 14 September 2023 at 08H39). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) STRIKING ANGEL examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) JUMPING ANALIA examined post race, nothing obvious detected. c) CHILLI MARMALADE coughing post race. d) BLUP BLUP speedy cut right hind. e) SPIRITED GIRL coughing post race. SCRATCHED: a) GRACIE'S TRIPP sore right front (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). b) SPIRIT IN THE WIND incorrectly shod (NHA / 13H37). Trainer C I Jonker was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.8 in that he presented SPIRIT IN THE WIND to race unshod when it was carded to race in a full set of alumites.
