THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SIMPLE SIMPLE (M van Rensburg) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) TRENTINO (C Habib) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, TIME TO THE MOON (Wes Marwing) and SHARAPOVA ( J P van der Merwe) came together and bumped when awkwardly placed on the inside of RUNWAY BOMB (M Yeni), which was bumped in by CAPE LIGHTS (S Khumalo), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) Jockey J Gates reported that he felt something amiss with MIX THE MAGIC in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) Leaving the 300m, Jockey S Khumalo, the rider of CAPE LIGHTS, briefly dropped his right-side rein and thereafter this filly hung out from the 200m. d) CAPE LIGHTS (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R R Sage advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) DAKOTA CAT was ridden by Jockey D Schwarz, who weighed out at 54,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared (declared 16 September 2023 at 08H25). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MIX THE MAGIC examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
