THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1400m MYTHICAL TUNE (*K J Lihaba) was shifted out off the heels of BUBBLES ON ICE (C F Dicken) which rolled in. Jockey C F Dicken (BUBBLES ON ICE) appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in races in future. b) GRECIAN PALACE (S Khumalo) was hanging in from the 300m. c) At the 250m BUBBLES ON ICE (C F Dicken), which had come to the end of its run, faltered for no apparent reason. Thereafter, Jockey C F Dicken did not persevere with his ride. In view of this incident, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Apprentice R A Venniker (PIXIE IN LOVE) accidentally dropped her crop at the 100m. e) In view of the performance of GRECIAN PALACE (S Khumalo) (10.30 lengths, 10/1 in the betting). The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) MYTHICAL TUNE (*K J Lihaba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D C Howells advised (DZ).
