THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TOTAL PROTECTION (*D B Geerthsen) refused to jump. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Assistant Trainer M Khan, acting on behalf of Trainer G J Maroun, was advised (GT). b) IPSO FACTO (P Mxoli) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) RAFFLES (M Yeni) was slow losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TOTAL PROTECTION (*D B Geerthsen) refused to canter to the start and had to be led by a Handler. Assistant Trainer M Khan, acting on behalf of Trainer G J Maroun, was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. b) TERRA TIME (C Zackey) refused to canter to the start and had to be led by a Handler. Trainer M N Houdalakis was advised that should this mare behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. c) At approximately the 300m, DESTINY OF SOULS (J P van der Merwe) was steadied and directed inwards when awkwardly placed between IPSO FACTO (P Mxoli) and PERFECT WITNESS (D De Gouveia), which rolled out. d) Leaving the 200m, SCARLETT PIMPERNEL (*M K Katjedi), which shifted in away from the crop was steadied momentarily in anticipation of running onto the heels of AFRAAD (J Gates), which shifted out away from the crop from the 300m and was corrected. e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to TOTAL PROTECTION, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping on two (2) Raceday's with a companion, consecutively. Assistant Trainer M Khan, acting on behalf of Trainer G J Maroun, was advised (GT). f) PERFECT WITNESS (D De Gouveia), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Dawson advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) BEY SUYAY: Jockey S Khumalo weighed out at 54,6kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None.
