THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LUCE VERDE (L Mxothwa) was restless in the stalls, jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. b) RAPIDASH (G van Niekerk) and FIBONACCI (K Matsunyane) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 350m BRIGHT BLUE SKY (A Andrews), which was hanging in, was carried outwards by BOOGIEFIELD (AUS) (C Orffer), which was directed to the outside of WILLIAM THE FIRST (A Arries) to continue its run. b) Leaving the 300m, BRIGHT BLUE SKY (A Andrews) and BOOGIEFIELD (AUS) (C Orffer) brushed when BRIGHT BLUE SKY (A Andrews) rolled in. Shortly thereafter BOOGIEFIELD (AUS) (C Orffer) and BRIGHT BLUE SKY (A Andrews) bumped and both horses had to be steadied when tightened for galloping room between WILLIAM THE FIRST (A Arries), which rolled out slightly and NUMZAAN (R Danielson), which shifted in away from the crop and had to be straightened. In this incident BOOGIEFIELD (AUS) (C Orffer) became unbalanced and commenced to hang outwards in the latter stages. c) RAPIDASH (G van Niekerk) was hanging out from the 400m. d) Jockey C Bantam reported that he felt something amiss with HOLY ORDERS. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that FIBONACCI took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding LUCE VERDE (L Mxothwa), Trainer B Crawford will be advised to have this colt re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. g) GREEN WITH ENVY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
