ALNWICK CASTLE reared in the stalls. SPEED OF NIGHT was reluctant to load. WHAT A MAN jumped slow, losing one length. In view of the report from the Starter regarding ALNWICK CASTLE, Trainer Marcus will be advised to have this gelding re schooled before his next engagement. In view of the report from the Starter regarding SPEED OF NIGHT, Trainer Marshall was advised to have this colt re schooled before his next engagement. Jockey Dillon was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline M on the use of the crop, in that he struck KING OF THE MOMENT more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey Dillon signed an admission of guilt and was fined. SPEED OF NIGHT, which was hanging out, was carried out by WILL SCARLET, which was hanging out, shifted out and had to be straightened on two occasions at the 200m and 150m. KING OF THE MOMENT, which raced green, was carried out by PARKTOWN, which raced green and shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. Jockey Dillon reported that KING OF THE MOMENT made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. WILL SCARLET and PARKTOWN were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. TWICE AS SLEEK raced without alumites and unshod Vet: ALNWICK CASTLE and TWICE AS SLEEK - nothing obvious detected. KING OF THE MOMENT - abnormal respiratory noise.
