THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process BOMBER STREAM (S Moodley) kicked the back gates. Was unloaded, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race, and re-loaded. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start RAILROAD (*S Hlengwa) and BOMBER STREAM (S Moodley) came together and brushed. b) At approximately the 1000m MASK ON (C Maujean) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of RAILROAD (*S Hlengwa) which was carried out by MOUNT MERU (K Matsunyane) which rolled out. c) In view of the performances of SIGNORA BOMBA (C Habib) (11.80 lengths, 5/1 in the betting) and BOMBER STREAM (S Moodley) (10.75 lengths, 10/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) ZABADAK (*R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M L Roberts advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) ZABADAK raced equipped with blinkers (advised 24.09.2023/08h01). b) BOMBER STREAM raced equipped with blinkers and without a compression mask (advised 23.09.2023/17h00). c) MASK ON raced with alumites in front and unshod behind (advised 20.09.2023/13h39). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) SIGNORA BOMBA : Not striding out left front. b) BOMBER STREAM : Nothing obvious detected. c) GOTCHA BUZZ : Coughing. d) RAILROAD : Cut into left hind.
