THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SHINE IN MEMPHIS (*S Sosibo) and PLENILUNIO (G Lerena) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
b) CHILLI MARMALADE (C Maujean) and VENETIAN MOONLIGHT (C Zackey) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
c) BILINGUAL (A Mgudlwa), DAMBUSTERS (C Habib) and SPIRIT IN THE WIND (R Danielson) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) VENETIAN MOONLIGHT (C Zackey), which was unruly, proved reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led by a handler. Trainer A P Peter was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, she may be suspended.
b) SHINE IN MEMPHIS (*S Sosibo) hung in from the 200m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
c) Jockey P Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with TEO TORRIATTE in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d) Jockey C Zackey reported that VENETIAN MOONLIGHT made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning CHILLI MARMALADE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer S Moffatt was advised.
f) SOUTHERN STYLE (*T Mayhew), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Mayhew advised (MS).

d) CHILLI MARMALADE bilateral epistaxis (2nd episode), recommended 120-day suspension.

e) SOMEDAY MAYBE eye injury.
f) BILINGUAL mouth injury.
