THE BLUES was stubborn loading. In view of the report from the Starter regarding THE BLUES, Trainer Kruyer will be advised to have this gelding re schooled before his next engagement. Approaching the 400m, MIRACULOUSLY OURS had to steady when tightened for galloping room between ANSE LAZIO and a tiring AFRICA'S GOLD, which rolled out. Thereafter leaving the 200m, MIRACULOUSLY OURS was held up for a number of strides when attempting a run between MERCURANA and WINTER SHADOW. At the 200m, EARL OF WARWICK had to ease when awkwardly placed close to the heels of MELIORA, which was hanging out, shifted out and was immediately straightened. THE BLUES was hanging out in the straight. MERCURANA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. AFRICA'S GOLD raced with alumites in front and unshod behind MIRACULOUSLY OURS raced in the colours of Messrs N C Smith & P Bamford: Tangerine, black epaulettes, collar and cuffs, striped cap (sold with engagement).
