THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TUFAAN (S Naidoo) jumped slow, losing one length. b) HAT'S MIRACLE (J Gates) jumped inwards. c) DAWN OF GOLD (K Matsunyane) and GIDEON'S DAUGHTER (R Fourie) bumped leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GIDEON'S DAUGHTER (R Fourie) raced wide on the turn and into the straight. b) Jockey L Mxothwa reported that MORE THAN A DREAM coughed post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey C Maujean was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride ROYAL VENUS out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, thereby prejudicing his chances of obtaining 5th place. Jockey C Maujean signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1750.00 d) Trainer M Turner was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that she failed to vaccinate BURNT SUGAR against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer M Turner signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2000.00. e) IMPRESSIVE NESSIE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
