THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At approximately the 1400m DOIN' TIME (C F Dicken) and HIS MASTER'S VOICE (G Lerena) were carried out marginally by ALMOND BUTTER (M Thackeray) which hung out around the turn when commencing to over-race. b) At approximately the 350m BASIE RAAKVAT (*B Plaatjies) shifted out sharply away from the crop. c) JOSEPHINE'S PRIDE (M Yeni) was hanging in from the 300m. d) HIAWATHA GOLDBERG (S Moodley) was hanging out from the 150m. e) HIS MASTER'S VOICE (G Lerena) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. f) Jockey C Habib reported that MORNING CHESS changed stride in the running.
