THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ALLTHEWAYFROMUSA (*M K Katjedi) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) SPECIAL CHARM (*S Sosibo) was slow losing one length. c) SPIRIT PRINCESS (P Mxoli) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, KIND JUDY (J P van der Merwe) and ALLTHEWAYFROMUSA (*M K Katjedi), came together and bumped. b) Jockey P Mxoli, the rider of SPIRIT PRINCESS, accidentally dropped his crop at the 200m. c) Apprentice S Sosibo (SPECIAL CHARM) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Apprentice S Sosibo reported that he felt something amiss with this mare in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey P Mxoli reported that SPIRIT PRINCESS did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the performance of ANGEL'S WISH (C Habib), (distance 20,50 lengths, betting 9/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. f) IDEAL FUTURE (*D B Geerthsen), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Kruger advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) IDEAL FUTURE: Apprentice D B Geerthsen weighed out at 51,3kg, only claiming 1kg of his 1,5kg apprentice allowance as declared. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) ANGEL'S WISH raced without ear muffs (declared 5 October 2023 at 07H41). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SPIRIT PRINCESS not striding out right hind. b) ANGEL'S WISH examined post race, nothing obvious detected. c) SPECIAL CHARM not striding out left hind; fatigued.
