THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KING REGENT (B Fayd'Herbe) was restless in the stalls, reared and jumped awkwardly, losing three lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stewards reviewed the start of this race with regard to KING REGENT (B Fayd'Herbe) in stall gate 5 and established that this gelding had reared as the start was effected. The Stewards were satisfied that the front gates had opened on time and that this gelding had not been impeded in any way and took no further action. b) At the 350m SUGAR MOUNTAIN (G Wright) was carried outwards by SCALINI (A Arries), which was steadied away from the heels of TOUT A FAIT (L Mxothwa). c) GOLD POKER GAME (A Andrews) was continually held up for a clear run between the 300m and the finish. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding KING REGENT (B Fayd'Herbe) Trainer GS Kotzen will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. e) SUGAR MOUNTAIN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
