THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SEEKING PEACE (R Fourie) jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with FLY TO RIO (D de Gouveia) leaving the stalls. b) AIR OF ROYALTY (O Noach) jumped outwards and made contact with VERONIQUE (C Zackey). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) From the 400m VERONIQUE (C Zackey) was unable to secure clear running between the inside running rail and FLY TO RIO (D de Gouveia) and was directed outwards into clear running approaching the 200m. b) At the 200m YOU WIN AGAIN (L Mxothwa) rolled out and brushed GREEN VALKYRIE (R Danielson). Thereafter, YOU WIN AGAIN (L Mxothwa) and GREEN VALKYRIE (R Danielson) brushed approaching the 100m when both horses shifted ground. c) Jockey G van Niekerk reported that he felt something amiss with MISTY CLIFFS, which tired quickly from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with SEEKING PEACE and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. e) GO LIKE FLO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised.
