THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SHIFTING PATH (A Andrews) was restless in the stalls. b) TEFLON MAN (C Zackey) and PURPLE AND GREEN (*DB Geerthsen) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 200m Jockey A Andrews (SHIFTING PATH) hesitated with his riding when tightened for galloping room on the inside of a tiring LINES CROSSED (G van Niekerk), which rolled in. b) In view of the performance of LINES CROSSED (G van Niekerk), which raced prominently and tired quickly from the 200m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) In view of the performance of ORIENTAL CHARM (L Mxothwa) (Betting 33/10; Distance 9.15 lengths), which was hanging out in the straight, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) In view of the performance of FORT RED (D de Gouveia), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) The saddles on PURPLE AND GREEN (*DB Geerthsen) and MOYA WA LALIGA (M Yeni) slipped back in running.
