SEA SCAPE lost two lengths. GREAT GUY was hanging in, in the straight. At the 1000m, SEA SCAPE took an awkward stride when racing onto the heels of WHAT A KID. Apprentice Matsunyane reported that LORD CARO was making an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. Assistant Trainer Clarke appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the poor performance of GREAT GUY on 23 October 2019. In this regard, he explained that, the 1800m race was too far and too soon on 23 October 2019 and that, tonight's distance of 1200m was better suited to GREAT GUY at this stage in his career. Mr Clarke suggested that the stable would race this horse over the shorter distances, until this gelding had strengthened up. GREAT GUY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: LORD CARO - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: EUGENIO - not striding out left fore and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon. CHUKKA - coughing and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
