THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MISS LIALAH (*S Hlengwa) over-raced in the early stages. b) Shortly before the finish MISS LIALAH (*S Hlengwa) had to steady when awkwardly placed on the heels of CINNAMON BLUSH (R Fourie) which rolled inwards. c) Jockey R Fourie reported that CINNAMON BLUSH choked up in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Apprentice K J Lihaba signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that as the rider of ASPOESTERTJIE, he failed to ride this horse out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards, prejudicing its chance of obtaining 5th place outright. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R2000 was imposed. e) Trainer W Whitehead signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that she failed to vaccinate MAGGIE SMITH against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. f) FRENCH PRINCESS (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D C Howells advised (HM).
