THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OVER EMOTIONAL (C Bantam) and SPELLING BEE (C Zackey) were slow into stride. b) NAUSHON (A Andrews) took an awkward stride leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DESTINY'S ANGEL (O Noach) raced wide without cover in the early stages and proved difficult to settle. b) Approaching the 100m NAUSHON (A Andrews), which was initially carried out marginally by MAGIC VERSE (G van Niekerk), shifted in away from the crop and continued to shift in to the finish. c) Trainer JMT Stewart was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.1.1, in that he declared Jockey M Winnaar to ride DIAMOND ROCKSTAR without having obtained his prior consent, resulting in a change of rider. Trainer JMT Stewart signed an admission of guilt and was fined R 1 000.00. d) MAGIC VERSE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer G Terzi, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised.
