THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PUTINS PROMISE (*S Sosibo) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls, was taken out, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded. b) FIRST ORIGIN (S Naidoo) was nervous in the stalls. c) GLOBETONIC (Y Ramzan) was restless in the stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. d) QUEEN'S WOOD (J Gates) jumped slow, losing two lengths. e) EMERALD FLAME (L Nhlapo) jumped slow, losing one length. f) CRUZADOR (S Khumalo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) EMERALD FLAME (L Nhlapo) cast its right front shoe leaving the stalls. b) Approaching the 100m PARIS RIX (R Khathi) was brushed outwards by JOYOUS JUBILEE (AUS) (C Maujean), which was carried out by GIACOMO PUCCINI (M Yeni), which shifted out and had to be straightened. c) In view of the performance of GLOBETONIC (Y Ramzan) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey M Mjoka reported JEAN PAUL did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) QUEEN'S WOOD (J Gates) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr E Reynders) f) COOL WINTER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
