THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) LADY HEIST (D Daniels) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. Thereafter this filly was hanging in in the concluding stages. b) Between the 350m and 100m AUNTY LIZZY (*B Plaatjies) was carried out by SABATINI (T Godden) which was hanging out and shifted out gradually away from the crop. Thereafter, leaving the 100m MIA'S ATHENA (R Fourie) was steadied when racing in restricted room between AUNTY LIZZY (*B Plaatjies) and the outside running rail. Jockey T Godden (SABATINI) appeared before the board with regard to this incident and was advised to take earlier corrective measures, when shifting ground in races in future. c) Leaving the 200m Apprentice R A Venniker (PELARGONIUM) crop became briefly entangled in her right side rein. d) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with MIA'S ATHENA in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) SHIPHOLIA (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
