THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RAIN OR SHINE (C Habib) and HOUSTON (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) ARCHIMIDES (D Schwarz) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) RATTLE BAG (P Mxoli) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Habib did not persevere with his riding from the 250m. Thereafter, Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with RAIN OR SHINE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Jockey D De Gouveia reported that MINI COOP did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey J R Syster was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of HIGH ROLLER, misused his crop by striking this filly more than twelve times (14) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey J R Syster signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R4000 was imposed. d) HIGH ROLLER (J R Syster), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Binda, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None.
