THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CARTAGENA (C Zackey) was restless and unruly in the stalls, broke through the front gate, dislodged the Rider and bolted the course. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Trainer H E Adamson was advised (PHvdW). b) JUMPING ANALIA (J Gates) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. c) CHATTANOOGA LADY (D Schwarz) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) WINTER PATH (S Khumalo) hung out from the 200m. b) The saddle on REBELS PRINCESS (K Matsunyane) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by an official. c) Jockey N Klink reported that FLYING PUMA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey S Khumalo reported that WINTER PATH made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to CARTAGENA, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 27 October 2023 to 2 November 2023. CARTAGENA may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer H E Adamson was advised. f) WHITE HILLS (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Botha, acting on behalf of Trainer R R Magner, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
