THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FENNEC FOX (Wes Marwing) was restless during the loading process. Trainer H van der Westhuizen was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). b) HAPPY ANALIA (M Yeni) was stubborn loading. c) LIL MISS MONEYBAGS (G Lerena) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. d) MICKE'S BOMB (*M K Katjedi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As per the Starter's report, a race review was called into the start of this race regarding FENNEC FOX, where it was established that this filly had cast her head into the adjacent stall and was held by the Handler as the start was effected. The Board was satisfied that this filly's head was not in the stall gate allocated to her, and acting in terms of Rule 61.6.11, declared her to be a non-runner. b) Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with LIL MISS MONEYBAGS in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) CHROME TOURMALINE (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) ABOVE THE WORLD was ridden by Jockey C Maujean (declared 23 October 2023 at 08H28). b) HAPPY ANALIA was ridden by Jockey M Yeni (declared 24 October 2023 at 11H57). c) INVENTRIX was ridden by Jockey D Schwarz (declared 25 October 2023 at 11H47). In terms of NHA Rule 21.15 as Jockey P Strydom is a part-owner of another runner in the Race (MIDNIGHT FUSION). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) MISS SOHO raced without a tongue tie (declared 26 October 2023 at 07H27). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) LIL MISS MONEYBAGS examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) SOUTHERN STYLE coughing post race. c) FENNEC FOX injured right hind stifle. SCRATCHED: a) CUE THE REBEL lame left hind (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). b) SAMOA insufficient recovery time (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). c) CLEAN LIVING reserve runner. Advised 26 October 2023 at 09H15. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) FENNEC FOX declared a non-runner in terms of 61.6.11.
