THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COLORAMA (C Maujean) was nervous in the stalls and rushed the front gates. b) UNITED EXPRESS (K Minnie), MOONSTRIKE (J Gates), ANGELSEA (D Schwarz) and DEMIGOD (L Mxothwa) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SUCCESSFUL LADY (M Yeni) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) DEMIGOD (L Mxothwa) and COLORAMA (C Maujean) were hanging in in the straight. c) Jockey J Gates reported that MOONSTRIKE took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) DEMIGOD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
