THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TROPICAL BREEZE (*N Nastili) and KAITRINA'S PRIDE (C Habib) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1000m KAITRINA'S PRIDE (C Habib) was momentarily inconvenienced on the inside of MADAME ZEE (C F Dicken), which rolled in and was immediately corrected. b) Jockey C F Dicken signed an admission for a contravention of Rule 58.2.2 (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that he as the rider of MADAME ZEE misused his crop by striking this filly more than twelve times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R2000 was imposed. c) Jockey C F Dicken signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E; Guideline C), in that he as the rider of MADAME ZEE misused his crop by striking this filly more than three times on consecutive strides, which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. d) MADAME ZEE (C F Dicken), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G I Rich advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey C Habib (KAITRINA'S PRIDE) weighed out at 54.8kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) BELLE FONTAINE : Returned post-race having cast the right front shoe. SCRATCHINGS : a) ELECTRA GREEN : Abscess in mouth (Trainer - 01.11.2023/07h17).
