THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) ATTABOY (*N Nastili) lost 1 length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) MO KING (*K J Lihaba) was hanging in from the 250m.
b) At the 200m TIBBOTT BOURKE (N Patel) was brushed in by a tiring MORNING CHESS (C F Dicken) which shifted in sharply away from the crop and was then corrected. As a result RACE AGAINST TIME (M Yeni) was momentarily inconvenienced when racing in close proximity to the heels of TIBBOTT BOURKE (N Patel).
c) Jockey A Mgudlwa reported that the saddle on NIGHTJAR slipped back in the running. This was confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon and the video evidence.
d) Jockey D Daniels reported that he felt something amiss in the running with DOIN'TIME. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e) Jockey S Moodley reported that LASHLAROO took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) Jockey C F Dicken reported that MORNING CHESS changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
g) GORGEOUS GUY (C Habib) was hanging in from the 300m.
h) In view of the performance of GORGEOUS GUY (C Habib) (20.00 lengths, 7/2 in the betting). The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
i) Trainer A Wright signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that she failed to vaccinate RACE AGAINST TIME against equine influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed.
j) ATTABOY (*N Nastili), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P V Lafferty advised (NS).
