THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SILENT WHISPERER (J Solomons) was stubborn loading, causing a delay. b) HIGH DOLLAR TIPSY (S Khumalo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Due to the delay in the previous race and the thirty-minute interval between races, the Stewards instructed the Jockeys to proceed directly to the start. b) After being slow to begin HIGH DOLLAR TIPSY (S Khumalo) pulled hard in the early and middle stages. c) Approaching the turn at the 1100m PRINCESS VIRGINIE (R Danielson) took an awkward stride away from the inside running rail, then commenced to over race and had to be steadied when racing awkwardly on the inside of BRIGHT DUCHESS (C Zackey). d) Leaving the 1100m DREAM SEARCHER (G Wright) was steadied and shifted outwards away from the heels of CAPTAIN'S DESTINY (O Noach), which received some pressure from TIBETAN VOYAGE (L Mxothwa), which rolled out away from MARPORI (D Schwarz), which raced awkwardly on the early part of the turn. As a consequence, DREAM SEARCHER (G Wright) raced very wide on the turn until approaching the 600m. e) DEVILISHLYGORGEOUS (K Matsunyane) was hanging out in the straight. f) PRINCESS VIRGINIE (R Danielson) was hanging out from the 200m. g) At the 150m PRANKSTER (B Fayd'Herbe) and BRIGHT DUCHESS (C Zackey) brushed. As a result, BRIGHT DUCHESS (C Zackey) was momentarily unbalanced and shifted out, which resulted in PRANKSTER (B Fayd'Herbe) having to be checked away from the heels of BRIGHT DUCHESS (C Zackey). Jockey C Zackey appeared before the Board and was advised that while the Stewards accepted that BRIGHT DUCHESS had become unbalanced in this incident, in similar circumstances the Stewards expect him to take stronger measures to keep his mounts on a straight course. h) In view of the report from the Starter regarding SILENT WHISPERER (J Solomons), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 12/11/2023 to 18/11/2023 inclusive). SILENT WHISPERER may not be presented for re-passing during this period. i) BRIGHT DUCHESS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DM Kannemeyer was advised.
