THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JUST BE LEKKER (G Lerena) jumped awkwardly and thereafter was slow into stride. b) FRANCINE (K Matsunyane) jumped slow, losing one length. c) TICKET TO VEGAS (D Schwarz) and WINTER CLOUD (A Domeyer) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In a slow-run race, ROYALS (R Danielson), JUST BE LEKKER (G Lerena) and FRANCINE (K Matsunyane) proved difficult to settle. b) In view of the performance of WINTER CLOUD (A Domeyer), which took an awkward stride at the 1100m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) MRS GERIATRIX (R Fourie) raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight. d) Leaving the 250m MRS GERIATRIX (R Fourie) raced in restricted galloping room on the inside of DOUBLE GRAND SLAM (G van Niekerk), which rolled in. e) Jockey D Schwarz reported that TICKET TO VEGAS, which refused to settle in the early stages, choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) In view of the performance of MRS GERIATRIX (R Fourie), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. g) RASCOVA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised. (WM) h) DOUBLE GRAND SLAM, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
