THE STARTER REPORTED: a) UNZEN (S Khumalo) was examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon prior to loading and passed suitable to race, causing a delay. b) COURAGEOUS CAT (JP van der Merwe) stumbled badly leaving the stalls. c) CIAN THE CONQUEROR (C Maujean) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) UNZEN (S Khumalo) over raced in the early and middle stages. b) Jockey P Mxoli reported that MOUNT PILATUS made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockeys S Khumalo and JP van der Merwe, the riders of UNZEN and COURAGEOUS CAT respectively, reported that they felt something amiss with these geldings. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) SILVER HILLS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SG Tarry was advised.
