THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VAR PARK (D de Gouveia) reared in the stalls, was taken out, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn. Trainer G Maroun was advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. b) FULLIAUTOMATIX (KA Brewer) jumped inwards and thereafter was slow into stride. c) DANCING DORA (D Schwarz) and LIFE GOES ON (*S Sosibo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race and the late scratching of VAR PARK (D de Gouveia). b) Jockey C Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride CIRCUS LIGHTS out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Jockey C Zackey signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00. When assessing penalty, the Stewards were satisfied that Jockey C Zackey had not prejudiced his chances of obtaining 4th place. c) LIFE GOES ON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Binda was advised.
