THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start SHONA KIRSTY YVES (*R A Venniker) was brushed out by CINNAMON BLUSH (R Fourie) which was carried out by NOBLE STORM (*B Plaatjies), which jumped outwards. b) BITCOIN BABY (T Godden) was hanging in from the 300m. c) The Stewards interviewed Apprentices B Plaatjies (NOBLE STORM) and N Nastili (WITCHWOOD) in relation to their adopting strong front running tactics and racing well in advance of the rest of the field which in the opinion of the Stewards was not sustainable. Both riders were advised that the Stewards considered that they had erred in their judgement of the pace that they set and that they are obliged to ensure that their mounts are able to close their races off strongly and to be competitive. Both Apprentices were reminded of their obligation to comply with their riding instructions that are issued by Trainers and that this non-compliance in itself could lead to a charge being preferred against them. Apprentice B Plaatjies (NOBLE STORM) was advised that his use of the crop in the concluding stages had come under notice and that he should refrain from using his crop on a horse that has come to the end of its run and is giving ground. Riding Master Agrella attended the Board room during this questioning of both Apprentices and has been requested to spend time with these Apprentices in regard to these concerns that were put to them. d) ASPOESTERTJIE (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Hewitson advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) WITCHWOOD raced fitted with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 14.11.2023/11h12).
