OPERETTA pulled its left front shoe en-route to the start which was attended to by the course farrier. REBEL'S CHAMP was slow into stride. Jockey Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with BASILIUS in running. Apprentice Ferraris reported that GREEN PLAINS was blowing heavily in running. Apprentice Juglall reported that ISPHAN did not stride out freely in running. Apprentice Dicken, the rider of REBEL'S CHAMP, accidentally dropped his crop at the 250m. OPERETTA and VALBONNE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BASILIUS - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. GREEN PLAINS - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. ISPHAN - brushed right hind. Scratched: CHIMICHURI RUN - Stipes permission; Due to the excessive rain pattern experienced in Gauteng over the last 7 days, this colt's travel plans to Cape Town had to be changed. BASADI FAITH - Stewards permission; this filly was originally due to run in the Sophomore Sprint on 7 December 2019. This race has been rescheduled to 14 December 2019.
