THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FATE OF FORTUNE (*S Hlengwa) was stubborn to load. b) MCCARTNEY (M Thackeray) was stubborn to load. Lost 2 lengths. c) ANOTHERDAYINAFRICA (D Daniels) jumped out awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At approximately the 300m Apprentice B Plaatjies reported that he felt something amiss with PRINCEKRESH and eased this gelding out the race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) NORTHERN WARRIOR (C Habib) shifted in away from the crop at the 200m and thereafter continued to hang in, in the concluding stages. c) Jockey S Moodley reported that LEBANESE POUND did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of MCCARTNEY (M Thackeray) (8/1 in the betting, 17.80 lengths) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning PRINCEKRESH, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority.
