THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ATLANTIC KING (J Solomons) was stubborn loading, causing a delay. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) STORM BOULEVARD (B Fayd'Herbe), which pulled hard in the early stages, proved difficult to assist negotiating the turn and, as a consequence, carried YZERFONTEIN (L Mxothwa) and ATLANTIC KING (J Solomons) out for a number of strides. Thereafter STORM BOULEVARD (B Fayd'Herbe) raced wide on the latter part of the turn and into the straight. b) WEATHER KING (A Domeyer), which was hanging out, shifted out continuously in the straight. c) Jockey P Mxoli reported that GOLD JET did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding ATLANTIC KING (J Solomons) Trainer AN Marcus will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. e) WEATHER KING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
