THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SACRED LILY (*S Hlengwa) was stubborn to load.
b) FLYING DRAGON (N Patel) and RAINBOW OF ROSES (D Daniels) lost 1 length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) Shortly after the start SATIN IN SEATTLE (C Habib) was brushed by FLYING DRAGON (N Patel) which jumped outwards.
b) SACRED LILY (*S Hlengwa) over-raced in the early stages.
c) GOLDEN BUTTERFLY (R Khathi) was hanging in from the 300m.
d) STYLE ICON (T Godden) was hanging in from the 250m.
e) Jockey C Habib reported that SATIN IN SEATTLE did not stride out freely in the running and as a result, he did not persevere with his ride from the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer D S Bosch will be asked to report back on the condition of SATIN IN SEATTLE upon return to stables.
f) In view of the performance of RAINBOW OF ROSES (6.55 lengths, 6/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
g) Trainer G B Puller appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of ROSY FUTURE, compared to this mare's previous performances. Trainer G B Puller stated that in his opinion, the longer distance of 1900m today attributed to the improvement shown. He further undertook to race ROSY FUTURE over similar distances in the near future. The Board noted this explanation.
h) ROSY FUTURE (*R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G B Puller advised (DZ).
