THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WHITE PEARL (P Strydom) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) PLATINA PRINCESS (K Matsunyane) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) BETULA (D De Gouveia), SOLDIER'S EYE (Wes Marwing) and GIMME A NOTHER (J P van der Merwe) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Zackey did not persevere with his riding from he 250m. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey reported that EGYPTIAN MAU did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer M N Houdalakis was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of EGYPTIAN MAU on return to stables. b) LET'S GO NOW (R Fourie) hung out in the concluding stages. c) Jockey J P van der Merwe signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2500 for a contravention of Rule 62.2.10 in that, whilst riding GIMME A NOTHER, he saluted in a celebratory gesture prior to the finish line. d) GIMME A NOTHER (J P van der Merwe), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
