THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BJORN IRONSIDE reared in the stalls, dislodged Jockey A Domeyer, was taken out, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay. b) WIZZ (D Ashby) was restless in the stalls. c) Jockey D Ashby was dislodged from WIZZ shortly after the start when WIZZ jumped and then shifted outwards sharply. d) SPARE (G van Niekerk) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SWEETIE DARLING (P Mxoli) was hanging out throughout. b) Shortly before the finish LION RAMPART (O Noach) jumped a patch that was across the track, losing momentum. c) The saddle on SAHARA CAT (R Fourie), which took an extended stride shortly before the finish while crossing a patch that was across the track, slipped back in running. This was confirmed by a Stipendiary Steward. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BJORN IRONSIDE (A Domeyer), this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 27/11/2023 to 03/12/2023 inclusive). BJORN IRONSIDE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding WIZZ (D Ashby) this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 27/11/2023 to 03/12/2023 inclusive). WIZZ may not be presented for re-passing during this period. f) Trainer Gareth van Zyl was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate KOLA TONIC against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer Gareth van Zyl signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00. g) SWEETIE DARLING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
