THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SKY ON FIRE (*M K Katjedi) reared in the stalls, was removed from the stalls, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and was reloaded. b) LINE BARRACKS (K Matsunyane) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow into stride. c) PATH OF POWER (Wes Marwing) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MISTER MONK (D Schwarz) commenced to give ground to the filed from the 300m. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that MAJESTIC PALACE changed stride continually and made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning PATH OF POWER, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this colt is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer P F Matchett was advised. d) PHANTOM EXPRESS (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) GREAT BARRIER was ridden by Jockey D De Gouveia (declared 30 November 2023 at 05H39). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) MISTER MONK raced equipped with alumites in front and steel shoes behind (declared 30 November 2023 at 07H32). b) LINE BARRACKS raced with club colours (black with a blue cap). Stipes permission. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) PATH OF POWER bilateral epistaxis, recommended 60-day suspension. Trainer P F Matchett was advised (MB). b) MAJESTIC PALACE examined post race, nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
