THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LT ALEXANDER (*S Sosibo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1400m, LA MOOHAL (D De Gouveia) had to ease to avoid the heels of LT ALEXANDER (*S Sosibo), which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Apprentice S Sosibo was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of LT ALEXANDER, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to LA MOOHAL (D De Gouveia) when he shifted in at approximately the 1400m. Apprentice S Sosibo signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven (7) days. Suspension dates: 10 December 2023 to 16 December 2023 (both days inclusive). b) Jockey P Strydom reported that TO THE RESCUE changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) Jockey P Strydom signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride TO THE RESCUE out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, thereby prejudicing his chance of obtaining third (3rd) place. Jockey P Strydom signed an Admission of Guilt and a suspension of twenty-one (21) days was imposed. Suspension dates: 10 December 2023 to 30 December 2023. d) JUST NUISANCE (K A Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) OFFICER IN COMMAND is a gelding (gelded 24 October 2023 - to be investigated) . b) LA MOOHAL raced equipped with blinkers (declared 30 November 2023 at 08H07). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) TO THE RESCUE examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) WELL LOVED fatigued. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
