THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUNDROP (R Khathi) jumped awkwardly outwards, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SKY VELOCITY (D Ashby) was hanging in from the 300m. b) In view of the performance of COUNTESSOFTHESTARS (R Danielson), which trailed the field throughout, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey L Mxothwa reported that SUNLIT FROM HEAVEN did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey R Fourie reported that MONTREAL made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 250m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey C Maujean reported that QUIRK OF FATE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) Jockey M Yeni was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.10 in that, whilst riding FIRE GLOW, he saluted in a celebratory gesture prior to the finish line.
