THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PHANTOMOFTHEFOREST (M Yeni) was nervous in the stalls. b) PASHTUNWALI (*S Sosibo) jumped sharply outwards and bumped GLOBETONIC (L Mxothwa) outwards, which resulted in HOLLYWOOD STAR (Y Ramzan) having to be steadied away from the heels of SAND BANK (JP van der Merwe). c) COOL RUNNINGS (C Maujean) stumbled leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being steadied leaving the stalls, HOLLYWOOD STAR (Y Ramzan) trailed the field throughout. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with SAND BANK. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) GLOBETONIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
