THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) RAGAMUFFIN (*M K Katjedi) refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer F Bronkhorst to be advised (GT).
b) MASTER CHRISTMAS (C Zackey) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
c) COMMANDER OF ALL (B Nyawo) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
d) NOTARBARTOLO (J R Syster) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
e) NKANDLA GOLD (N Klink) jumped awkwardly losing two lengths.
f) ROCK OF BISMANTOVA (G Lerena) was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Leaving the 500m, MASTER CHRISTMAS (C Zackey) was carried in by EIGER SANCTION (M Yeni), which rolled in. Thereafter, EIGER SANCTION (M Yeni) was bumped out by MASTER CHRISTMAS (C Zackey), which was directed outwards to avoid the heels of MAJESTIC PALACE (S Khumalo), which hung in throughout.
Jockey C Zackey (MASTER CHRISTMAS) appeared before the Board and was advised to take more care when shifting ground in races.
b) Shortly before the finish line, ROCK OF BISMANTOVA (G Lerena) was awkwardly placed on the heels of MAJESTIC PALACE (S Khumalo), which hung in. As a consequence of this, Jockey G Lerena was unable to ride ROCK OF BISMANTOVA out to the end of the race.
c) Jockey N Klink reported that he felt something amiss with NKANDLA GOLD in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to RAGAMUFFIN, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion.
Suspension dates: 22 December 2023 to 28 December 2023. RAGAMUFFIN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer F Bronkhorst to be advised.
e) MAJESTIC PALACE (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

a) RAGAMUFFIN was carded to be ridden by Apprentice M K Katjedi (declared 21 December 2023 at 08H26).
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a) MASTER CHRISTMAS raced equipped with blinkers and without cheek pieces (declared 20 December 2023 at 05H25).
b) COMMANDER OF ALL raced equipped with alumites (declared 20 December 2023 at 18H44).

THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a) NKANDLA GOLD examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
b) WILLIAMSON lame right front. Specimens collected for analysis. Veterinary report required prior to racing. Rule 49.7 applies.
c) MASTER CHRISTMAS abrasions right hind.
d) ROYAL ALBERT fatigued.
e) GLOBAL REEF blowing post race.
f) KAMALA HILL abrasions left hind.
SCRATCHED:
a) AMERICAN SPIRIT change of stable. Advised 18 December 2023 at 07H39.
b) RAGAMUFFIN refused to load (NHA / 13H13) Betting 125/1.
